after much deliberation i decided to get myself a new mandolin, its still one of the beginners models but with an oval hole its a tonewood tar10 now i have two a tanglewood astyle with f hole and my tonewood with oval hole , i like the two for different reasons the oval has a deep sound and in my opinion makes the celtic music i am learning sound better and my f hole is a sharper sound good for my venture into bluegrass and more contemporary folk music , even though i payed more for the tonewood i think the build quality of my tanglewood beats it hands down
