No,I didn't break a tooth by doing any Jimi Hendrix type playing on mandolin-but it was the hardest root canal my dentist ever performed due to curvy roots. He has claimed me to be "one tough girl" for going thru two sessions to complete it. That's done, and now I need a "build up" on this particular molar. Aside from recovering from a sore mouth,I've been listening to baroque mandolin music in addition to playing old time tunes and Scottish Carols. Wanted to learn more "obscure" carols as while I adore Yuletide music,I do start getting a little burnt out on hearing the super common ones. And in pondering the 150th anniversary of the Civil War,I'm thinking about tabbing some songs from that era for mandolin. I have the songbooks, just need to get to tabbing it out for others to play (I read music for mandolin so it would be a pretty easy task) All this while learning and getting the hang of clawhammer banjo.
And I'm also mulling over an acoustic electric A mandolin I purchased some years back but haven't really played as it has a buzz- last mandolin to have that was my Kentucky and it was due to needing a truss rod adjustment. I assumed this other one would be the same thing, and now I'm wondering, and fiddling with the idea of messing with the bridge height to see if it's something super simple like that. A shame to have this one for so long and not be playing it.
Autumn Equinox is tomorrow, and I'll be celebrating with great gusto! A Happy Harvest to all.........
