It's amazing how a good night of music can leave one feeling so great...and unable to sleep because I was so hyped up. Went to my regular jams yesterday night, and had a great time. During a break between songs, I was walking around the bar practicing tremolo on scale exercises and picking a couple simple fiddle tunes, and one of the musicians there walked up and said he was impressed with my tremolo work. I've been playing for maybe 3 weeks, and last night it just clicked so I just kept practicing when there was a break. The guy said that's one of the toughest parts of playing mandolin, getting tremolo to sound like that. Wow hearing that sure felt good. Later in the evening, I was asked to join up with another group on Tuesdays because they don't often get mandolin players there. I told the guy I'd go, but that it's only my 3rd Sunday with my mandolin. He asked what happened to my other mandolin, and was shocked to hear that I had never played mandolin before, and said he never would have guessed I'd only been playing mando for 3 weeks. Yes, I have quite a ways to go still. But it's such a great feeling when people have good things to say. This whole experience is just so much fun.

And I have to say that the feeling carried right on over to today. It's made my morning so much brighter, and I'm sure I'm annoying my office mates with my sunny attitude today. But I love it!
