I began the process of gathering some preliminary numbers this month. I dug out the sling psychrometer from my lab, and tested it in an ice bath.
Both thermometers were within 1/2 degree of freezing (posted range on the thermometers was +/-1.5 F).
I then set up all three digital hygrometers. They all seem to be working as originally intended.
I'm currently checking to see how far off the digital hygrometers are. At present, they all read about 5% too high on relative humidity, but they all tend to be within about 1-2% of each other, so if they have drifted they have done so more or less uniformly.
I should have corrective numbers in another day or so, and will then deploy all three: one inside the mandolin, the second outside the mandolin but inside the case, and the third in the room where the case is kept. This will all happen in the spare bedroom in my house.
