Hello all,I am brand new to the mandolin world.I mainly play pedal steel guitar (5 years) also resonator guitar (1 1/2 years).My wife brought home a beginner A style mandolin so let the journey begin!

Since you have stringed instrument experience you should have no problem as long as you stick with it.

Good luck with it! I am a beginner too and I am loving every minute of it. I already play the guitar and banjo so it is coming a little bit easier for me, although easy isn't the right word here. But what I am trying to say is since you already play other instruments too that should make it come a little easier for you. This new website is awesome and if it turns out as good as the banjo hangout it will be a very informative and resourseful website.

I've been looking forward to a hangout for mandolin folk
I have been playing string instruments for a very very long time, but only been playing mandolin for about four years. I now own 7 mandolins (different styles, different sizes) and it's my main instruments when I perform with my little band,
