The Road is the Road

Monday, July 8, 2013

I know I have been inactive here, but I've not forgotten yall. Here is the last update:

First day of Summer! Traveling again.

Tuesday's banjo workshop at Stickerville went well and with 10 folks attending the 2 hrs went by fast! There  was one fellow who had been there last year and another fellow who was from Pittsburgh, PA - My home town! I stopped in Salt Lake City after dropping Miss Jennifer at the Boise Airport Wednesday and had a nice rest there. Did some shopping at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods and had a nice supper last evening before getting ready to do it again. Another long day on the road.

Well, I made it to Salida, CO this evening and the jam has been set for tomorrow - Saturday the 22nd. And as things go the trip was uneventful until I realized I lost the cover off of the Airstream's ac unit. Spent much of this evening getting up there to tarp it over in case I can't get it fixed right away. 4 screws if the local RV place has the part, otherwise, ether having it shipped from another Airstream dealer or just riding it back to Ohio and hoping the duct tape holds!

Sunday it is over to Westcliffe, CO and The Rolland Family Fiddle Camp to teach. Clawhammer and Old Time Fiddle. Should be a great camp. I loved it last year. Not too late to contact me and get in on the fun and LOTS of music.

... AND after the Fiddle Camp I head over to our Ohio place for the month of July. I am taking students for most of the month and Miss Jennifer will come over to meet up and see the ol' place mid month. Got to decide if it is time to sell it. Tough decision but we really don't get there very much any more. Been like two years!

Then as August hits, it is on to Siloam Springs, AR for the Second Saturday Concert there and two weeks later to Mountain View, AR where I, Miss Jennifer and Guitar Buzzard Miss Annie teach a 2 day jam camp.

Phew, so do you want to know that we will be going over to Strawberry Festival for Laborday Weekend to help Dana T. at the Music Caravan before heading home for a month's rest before heading up to Seattle. YES, the fun just seems to go on and on! I'm tellin' ya though, once that October trip is over it's home in Yuma for the rest of the year! Thinking about a banjo/fiddle camp there this year too...

Try to keep up and see us here or there. Enjoying the journey.

Play Nice,
Dan
