Hey Ya’ll: I am 64 and a VERY slow learner and like a lot of people have trouble finding someone to sit with me for hours and play slowly while I learn a tune. But I have found a great website that will help take care of that problem, it’s called: strummachine.com/. This is NOT a paid endorsement. I just found it really helpful for me and it’s very easy to use and I wanted to share. Thanks!

That would be handy, but do you know of any free sites? e websites. Let us know if you find one!

Seems pretty slick. I'm not sure it's a good long term proposition, but for new or returning players, it seems like a cheap way to build up speed.

I recently started using Strum Machine myself, and am about halfway through the free, 30-day trial. At $5 a month, I'll most likely become a paying customer once the tryout is through. It's easy to use, and -- in addition to its vast library of preset tunes, the app has several features that have been particularly helpful to me:
Key Change: automatically transposes any tune to any key
Tempo: modify the tune to play at any tempo
Auto Speedup: increase the tempo on each play-through, by as many bpm as you wish
Auto Finish: set the tune to play through a specific number of times before it stops (otherwise it will repeat indefinitely)
Looping: Identify and highlight a section of a tune you want to work on, and set it to play as many times as you want
Lists: Create a customized list of the tunes you play, so you can find them quickly when you want to practice
If a tune you want isn't in the library, you can easily add the chord changes yourself -- all of the above features can be used on any tune or progression you add.
Luke Abbott, creator of the app, is quick to respond if you want to contact him. Here's a link to Strum Machine, as well as a review that describes it in a bit more detail:
