Hello friends I am looking for a decent mandolin for around $1000. I havnt picked up my old Flinthill in probably 15 years until today, and I realized what a trainwreck it is. I havnt priced one or played in many years,I dont know what is out there. Just need something with decent action, decent sound. I can saw a fiddle some, and I used to know the 4 finger cords, what do yall suggest?

You might check out the Banjohangout, sometimes there are mandolins for sale there. Also, Mandocafe probably has lots of mandolins for sale.

For a tad above your budget you like me can pick a The Loar LM700; I've owned Kentucky KM1000 and Gibson F9 and neither one comes close to the
LM700.

There are a few USA boutique builders that produce thousand dollar mandolins. YouTube is a place to discover small builders. I have been boosting mandolin building content in the Building and Repairs forum here .
I need to add Red Valley to that list.  Red Valley
