I posted these pix after a talk with you, I believe. I hadn't even heard of a cornerless violin, so I looked them up on the Google image search. I don't even play violin, though I suppose my mandolin experience would ease the transition --

I don't know about ease of transition from mando to fiddle.(there's the bow to contend with) I came to mando from fiddle. Worked out well for me because I've played guitar forever and a pick is no stranger to me. As long as I don't look at my left hand and just play the fiddle tunes I'm fine. Actually seeing the frets still throws me off.
