Thought I'd start out the New Year by recording a medley of some old, but timeless gospel hymns. Played on my Loar LM-400 mandolin, of course.

After attending a gospel jam at a small country church outside of Altoona last night, located at the edge of the Ocala National Forest, I decided to record this great classic hymn with simply my mandolin as the accompaniment. I had to record it fairly soft as I didn't want to wake up my sleeping wife and it was early in the morning when I made this recording. smiley: wink Mistakes were a-plenty, but I hope it still blesses you never-the-less.

I decided to record another soundclip of my Loar LM-400VS mandolin with the current two week old D'Addario Medium Phosphor Bronze J-74 strings on it. I am using the rounded end of my Blue Chip TAD50 pick, which I have been using lately exclusively now on the mando. It gives it a little deeper/rounder tone I think. See what you think.

Another simple strumming/rhythm song using just three chords G, C, & D& A...my favorite on the mandolin.
