I have a vintage 1940s (or earlier) MANDOLIN, P'Mico New York Mother of Pearl GoldGilt NOBILITY model, flat back mandolin with full mother of pearl headstock AND fretboard, black dot inlays at 5, 7 10 and 12th frets, 17 frets total, sparkle goldgilt and mother of pearl rim on front and back white bone nut and bridge appears all original, in very playable condition.
The finish is well worn from the back of the neck all the way up to the 5th fret, I'm thinking this was a heavily played instrument by a pro.
Approximate measurements:
Total instrument: 24 x 9 x 3 inches
Fretboard: 9 inches total
Materials: wood, mother of pearl, metal gold gilt
I'm trying to appraise this for auction but I can't find another instrument like it, specifically the full Mother of Pearl fingerboard and headstock. I'm wondering / hoping maybe(?) that it was the favorite stage instrument of a well known performer.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bill Purkins

Difficult to say anything about it without detailed pictures.
