It's a mighty fine looking instrument!
Because it is a Sigma, it is probably a Martin-designed mandolin, but made in a country where the labor might be less expensive than the U.S.A.
I did some research on a Sigma guitar that I was interested in last year.
Sigma's have often been authorized (by Martin) to be built by companies other than Martin that wanted to put out a nice instrument with name-recognition.
Some are outstanding, some OK.
My experience only extends to the guitars...

I'm a guitar player myself. My old man plays all sorts of instruments, guitar, mandolin, banjo, accordion, you name it! And he plays them well.
He's decided to pass down some of his instruments to me. He's told me if I want to sell them on then I have to research them first. "I don't want them going for cheap!" were his words!
So here I am, out of my depth, not wanting to "give them away"!
I'll keep researching.

Around here, a Sigma mandolin would be rare...
Southern Missouri...
I worked at several top stores in St. Louis and saw a few Sigma guitars, but never a Sigma mandolin...

I got so bored and frustrated of researching I actually started looking up chords and how to play a mandolin! I'm now having second thoughts about selling it haha
Such a different tone to my guitars. The small neck is a bit of a challenge but I'm enjoying learning it.

It's really a cool mandolin, has some good history to it and dang it...
It's a MANDOLIN! 
I'd bet there's a millions guys and gals out there that would feel very blessed to have it...
