Halloween & the MandoHangout Vampire – Tom Arri 2019

On a Ghoulish fall night, in the Moonlit Fog...

Arose an Old Vampire to drink hot, bubbling Grog...

He liked the quiet of the Halloween din...

Even so, he picked on a Black Mandolin...

Minor-Keyed tunes, he was fond of the most...

When along in the mist, came a Grumbling Ghost...

The Ghost played an upright Mandolin Bass...

But the Ghastly fellow had a sad look on his face...

I needs me a tab, in the key-ish of A...

'Cause I practice at Night and never the day...”

I like 'Old Joe Clark' in A, but not G...

And I like to get (me) Mando-Bass tabs for FREEEE!”

The Vampire shook his Skull and said, “Listen here, dude...”

The MandoHangout has tabs and I think they're quite GOOD!”...

So off went the Ghost to start his MandoHangout account...

He thanked the Vampire, whose name began “Count...”...

Off in the night went the Ghost and his bass...

As Creeped up a smile on the Old Vampire's face...

His Fangs shone bright in the dark, coolish night...

He was jamming for Cold Blood and maybe a Bite...

Along came Eric Schlange, carrying his Acoustic Guitar...

MandoTom showed up with a Banjo in his car...

Frankenstein made it, bringing a Moonshine Jar...

And they played them a Gig, at the “Halloween Bar”...

Bob Buckingham was the feller who played Mando this time...

With Eric on Guitar, playing sublime...

Tom picked his Banjo, like never before...

And Frankenstein drank Blood at the bar, while watching the score...

The Ghost re-appeared and dragging his bass...

The 'dragging' put Scared Looks on the face...

Of the patrons who Resurrected for to see such a show...

From Dead Men & Skeletons, 'cause picking they know!

Someone's Mummy came in and sat for a while...

At some point TexasBanjo cringed and said with a Toothless smile...

Do you boys know “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” or

Any other great Bill Monroe tunes?

'Cause my Wolf Man husband wants to Bay at the Moon!”

We played out our hearts (literally) as the night Crept along...

Each member contributing to each Spooky-Beat song...

As the Boney Old Patrons clammered for MORE mandolin...

Tabs they requested as the Grateful Dead staggered in...

The Cryptic Claw-Hammers, clawed out some tunes...

Wolf Man clapped and Howled at the Moon...

The stars in the sky, shivered with Fear...

As the End of this poem, drew closer and near...

When we're not uh-pickin' or playing in the band...

We tab out our tunes with Cold, Dead hands...

And should you get lost-in-the-Fog while Spooking about...

Come visit us soon... at the MandoHangout!

Bwah – ha – ha – ha!
