Orpheum Mandolins by Tacoma...

Here's a used one (that apparently got sold) - CLICK HERE...

If you are happy with you're purchase, that's ALL that counts!

I'm not familiar with the Gator cases, but I have heard of them...

I've played Tacoma guitars, but none of their mandolin offerings...

If it's solid wood, plays good and sounds good to you, you can't ask for much more...

For a solid wood instrument that sounds good (to you) and plays well (lowered action), I think ya done good...

Thanks much, Tom. I'm really surprised how good this thing sounds. I think it might have been some prototype or something made outside the usual production channels. At any rate, now I'm in for some interesting reading. And playing

Excellent, Darryl!

Yeah, price-wise for a solid top F-style that you're happy with as far as sound, playability and looks are concerned, I don't think you could have done better...

From reading through the above linked articles, it looks like the original company got sold and became part of Fender some time ago, so I'm wondering if it really is a new instrument or a new one that just never got sold.

It would be interesting to know the serial number and see if we could find a 'built-on' date...

That would give us all an idea which company made your mandolin...

Oh, the details! winkyes
