Well, I don't kow where to find one on your side of the pond, but they show up at music stores in the states where Ovation and Applause brands are carried...
I've seen 'em at Tower Music in Fenton, MO (USA), Fazio's Fret 'n Friends (Manchester, MO USA), Music Folk in Webster Groves, MO (USA) and occasionally at pawn shops around the area.
They're fun and they will definitely satisfy the average pickers desire to play a mandolin. That means they play well (action) and sound decent both acoustically and through their built-in pick-up system.
Remember Glen Campbell? He played some fancy Ovation/Applause guitars back in the day. They had excellent actions and back in the 70s and had the best electronics available for acoustic guitar players who wanted to plug in.
They might cause a traditional bg player to shreik at the idea, but I like to see the traditional folks shreik every so often! Cheap entertainment! ;)
