I'm interested in finding a mandolin within my budget of 3-5k dollars. I'd like considerations because there are so many makers and brands to choose from. Primarily I like warm, rich, darker sounds out of my instruments. Also, any suggestions on good sellers would be appreciated.

Check out Gibson and Stelling. Most people don't know Stelling makes guitars and mandolins as well as banjos. I've played both a Gibson and a Stelling mandolin and both sound great.
