Hey, Mando Hangout!
I'm a banjo player looking to start a bluegrass band in the West Georgia area. I do mostly fast-paced conservative stuff, but I like experimenting as well. My influences include Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Lonesome River Band, Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out, Blue Highway, Balsam Range, and the Special Consensus. I have plenty of folks to jam with, so I'm not really looking for more of that. Instead, I'm looking for pickers who are as serious about it as I am with plenty of free time and a driving passion for bluegrass. I'd really like to get a group together to play festivals and other quality venues. I know it's unlikely to make a career of it, but I'd still like to try.
Let me know if you're interested or if you know someone who is. Thanks in advance!

Jeff,
It sounds like you have the kind of zeal, the excitement and natural love of bluegrass music that every successful band leader/member would have to have in order to make it work...
Best of luck to you, man...
