I have had a Dayton banjo mandolin in pieces awaiting repair, and I put it together today, as I had finished the fret job on it. I haven't put the binding on as yet, but wanted to assemble it to see about bridge height (I'm making a shorter one), how the aluminum head worked (I'm replacing it with a .0005" thick stainless head), and to generally learn more about the instrument. It's serial number 1723, and is a very well made instrument. There are a few more small repairs to undertake on the mandolin, but I'm pretty happy so far with how it is turning out.
