A lady in a retirement home showed me her mandolin thats in top notch shape. The label reads Supertone sold by sears roebuck. Small number on label ??? F13411.. Research shows this brand name sold from 1914 to 1941. and was made by Regal or Kay or Harmony or Oscar Schmidt. I seen this mando on E bay for $499 and on another sell site for #699. (Identical same instrument) My question is...... are these prices realistic or phoney.???? The label is colored green. Thanks for any further info. leeman

Pictures? If an item sells for a price it is worth that price to that buyer. Whether it is worth that to another buyer is another question. On Ebay prices are often posted high then lowered over time or have a make an offer button. Sooo yes ... no ... maybe... R/

Antebullum instruments shows a 1915 supertone which matches up with her mandolin. Even the binding looks the same... So I would say hers is a 1915 ? flatback Sears supertone mandolin. Hers has no cracks or even any sign of repair. No fret ware. Its just a question of what I can tell her its worth. Thanks for your comeback. leeman
