Hello,
I am a mandolin builder from Australia and for the past six years I have been working on a book The Mandolin - a history - on the history of mandolins (and other mandolin family instruments). Those of you who also hang out on the Mandolin Cafe site may have noticed the discussion there. The book is just about ready for publication and to pay for the printing I have set up a Kickstarter campaign to pre-sell enough copies to pay for the printing costs. There are a couple of draft chapters that can be downloaded from my website as pdfs as well as the Table of Contents if anyone is interested in previewing some of the book. There is also information there on the two other books I have written on building mandolin family instruments.
The published book will be over 400 pages, with more than 450 illustrations and will I might suggest it will answer lots of those question people always have about the old mandolin they have inherited or found at a garage sale. It will be printed in full colour in a 10" x 8" softcover format and there is a small number of limited edition leather bound still available. I would like to think this will be an essential addition to any mandolin player's library
