When folk whose age is less than half as long as I've been playing stringed stuff can sound so much better, it is humbling.  It doesn't stop me from playing, but it's a good "volume control" on the ego.

A Mando Hero, hmm, for me I hope it's because someone just starting out needs a bit of encouragement  No matter how rough their timing is, or not quite getting jam edict I try to be positive towards them. I remember my Dad telling me at age 9, " it's time for you to start playing your guitar in church." I only knew 3 or 4 chords, didn't know a thing about " the Key," but the Pastors wife, who played piano, just said "Play what you know" it turned out to be a lesson in how to keep time. ENCOURAGEMENT is the word my friends!

I'm already a "Mandolin Hero" of sorts. I play mandolin in a little country band and we have regular gigs. We're actually making a little money.
