Ever get playing and suddenly draw a blank on what to play next? Even though you have a lengthy tune list (somewhere)you suddenly feel as though the last song is over and you have suddenly wiped the slate clean. Worse yet has it ever happened in front of peoplez? Yanno, in front of the cat it's no big deal, but when others are around it could be embarrazzing. Now....it has never happened during a gig, but just yesterday I was playing at work and suddenly felt as though the tunes left me. Weird.

I keep a bunch of "gig lists" (8 so far) which each has 10 songs,. When I practice (at least that what I call it, sitting outside with a cold one) I take one of the lists and work it down. Things stay a little fresher that way in this aging mind.

I also have a bad habit of forgetting the title to tunes I've picked up over the years. It's especially hard when it's a foreign title and I never even knew how to pronounce it in the first place. lol

It could be worse, like playing the medley to one song while singing the lyrics to another.
I have to admit being "instrument chord challenged." That's why the mandolins, tenor guitar, tenor banjo and ukuleles are all tuned GDAE. It beats getting three chords into a song and getting finger-lost on what to do next.

At least I haven't been caught absentmindedly playing sans pants or anything.
