I'd love to see a Tune Of The Week, here, like over on the Banjo HangOut. I've been learning at least a tune a month, usually from Casey Henry, over at BHO. I'd like to be able to do that here, on mandolin. Just a suggestion, but I could put any mandolin instruction to good use.

Pick a tune and start it up----see what happens ----they do have a tune of the week thing over at the other place.......

I'm a beginner on mandolin. I only know a couple tunes, so I'm probably not the guy to head it up.

although I'm embarrassed to include mine because I play the tune wrong, and can do it slightly better now.

It was also tried on fiddle hangout, but it didn't take there. The FHO has a concept of the monthly  fiddle festival in which they have 2-3 tunes that a bunch of folks learn/play. It seems like a jolly bunch there.

The long-runing TOTW in the old-time section of the Banjo hangout is remarkable and has lasted much longer than I expected.

I see some of the dates for the submissions were around the holiday season,which could be why it never took off. 

   Does participating mean it has to be strictly Old Time/Bluegrass? Would it be OK to have blues songs and 1920's (swing jazz tunes?) I could give this a try. Noticing how dead it's been here,unlike the banjo hangout.

I would participate if it was tune of the month instead of tune of the week. I work a lot, and work shifts, so I may not have much time off one week, but more the week after. And, I don't think a week is enough time to learn a tune well enough to record it.

Another shameless plug coming up. Go to thecelticmandolin.com/free.html and there is a free tune of the month section that will grow over the next months. This includes a monthly tune pack with loads of audio files to help you learn the tune. Have a go - it is free. There's also a Slow Session section that might be useful. I'd be interested to hear if these resources have proved useful. By the way, I'm not convinced that video tutorials are that useful - all the 'looking' and not enough 'listening'.

It sounds nice, but I mainly play bluegrass, oldtime and the likes on the mandolin. I prefer to play Celtic music (although I hate that term, I call it Irish music or Scottish music, or whatever music it is, instead) on the concertina.
