Recently got a flat top made by a luthier in Kentucky using cedar as the top wood with walnut for back/sides. The sound is quite warm a (made a sample at snd.sc/1dG2wWx) and the cedar aroma is hypnotic. The top is finished so the naturalness of the wood comes through. Just goes to show there still are some fun instruments out there if you look for them.
