hello every one, Eric Sullivan is making roasted maple banjo bridges & every one on the banjo hangout loves them. spoke to Eric Sullivan & he said he is going to make them for mandolins also. my question is do you think will work on the mandolin as it did for the banjo.

I've heard of maple banjo bridges, of course. And I've heard of and made a couple of maple mandolin bridges, and they can work very well. But why roasted? What's that mean?

Brian go over to the banjo hangout there is 6 pages right now about roasted banjo bridges. I was just wondering could this also be a good thing for the mandolin.

If there is one mandolin job I hate, it's fitting a bridge. Have done it twice, took forever and was never really satisfied with the result. They fit, but it would have been better/cheaper if I let someone else do them. I learned a lot, mainly to plan a half-day per bridge and not have a $1 "swear jar" nearby.
