Mandolin for Dummies by Don Julin. Very informative, starts you at the beginning and progresses to intermediate works.

I recall Jack Tottle's book being pretty good.  Oak Publictions.

Eddie Collin's "Bluegrass Mandolin..ASAP"..

I actually got to jam with Eddie a month or so ago. Besides writing great instructional stuff, and being a heck of a good musician, he's a really nice guy. I really recommend looking into his stuff.

Other then that, I would say Bruce Baldassarri's DVD's from Homespun Tapes are worth getting for any beginner bluegrass mandolin player.

I actually had Jack Tottles book by Oak PUblications. I found it while at my moms house and plan on taking another look at it as I'm back learning the mandolin again. Another good book/Video is anything by Ronnie McCoury, especially if you want to learn Bill Monroe style mandolin.
