Could somebody help me out here? I have a sunburst Flatiron pancake 2M made in Bozeman. Card says "Signature Series" serial number 91114427. The instrument has snowflake fretboard inlays, a beautiful birdseye maple back, and no truss rod.
I was told the first two digits of the serial number denote year of production; if so, it was made in 1991.
I thought that Flatiron had been purchased by Gibson by that time and that all Flatiron pancakes of that era had truss rods.
Coud anybody tell me anything about these Signature Series instruments? Was lack of a truss rod a common thing with them? Any insights will be most appreciated.
Thanks.

I Think Gibson bough Flatiron 1996. Or is that when they moved to Nashville?

Gibson bought Flatiron in 1987...don't know about the truss-rod issue, Flatiron history from the horse's mouth (Bruce Weber)

Just picked up my '82 Flatiron 2K (pre-Gibson) today. The label states "Made in Bozeman, MT by Back Porch Productions." You can see it in the picture I think. No sign of truss rod access adjustment on this one.
