December's closing in and I thought we could kick off the Irish Tune of the Month on the Mando Hangout! I decided to be democratic about it and have a vote (hopefully we're not all tired of elections, but the options are better
) I used the top-ten most-added tunes from thesession.org, these tunes are widely known and played. So here's the options, pick your favorite or the one you want to woodshed on. The polls close on Sunday December 2 and whichever tune has the most votes will be our tune for the month of December.

It wouldn't let me vote for the wind that shakes the barley. I'm guessing that one's gonna lose.

Yep, we have a loser. I'll put it in for the vote for next months tune. If any other people that wanted that tune could you let me know so I can add votes for it in the next drawing?
I got the code free so I can't really whine if it doesn't work right.
Thanks for the heads up!

Brad, don't let this little bump slow you down. I'm looking forward to it.

So the people have spoken and the winner is "The Maid Behind the Bar"
If you need the dots (sheetmusic) you can find it here thesession.org/tunes/display/64 and here's the tab

Here's my go at it. I learned this one awhile back on the fiddle, but never really played it on mandolin until this month. It's a surprisingly good tune for mandolin,
I want to hear some others post their versions! So come on and get crackin', folks.

Sounds good there Mojo. I'm still "cracking". Part B giving me the fits, but it is coming along ok for never hearing this song before.

Nice job mojo... My mandolin is out of commish right now, going to buy a new one soon. that's why I never posted.
