What about starting contests, once a month to have. This may increase the amount of members in MHO.

To have a contest, you need a sponsor. I can't speak for Eric, but maybe once readership and membership and posts accelerate perhaps then they will have contests here as well.
As I write this there are only 35 mandolin lovers online, as opposed to 361 fiddle lovers at the other site. Just my .02.

I offered to submit some goodies for a contest here a while back as I have a traditional music online store,Eric and I exchanged a couple of emails but wasn't sure if he was for it or not. I could tug on his sleeve again........

I do a monthly Irish tune of the month on the Fiddle hangout, I'll can start it here on the mando hangout as long as you guys don't hang me out to dry for playing a 'tater bug.
It's NOT a contest though, just a chance for people to learn a tune and share it if they like. No pressure.
To select a tune, I generate a random number between 1 and 100 from random.org, that number is cross referenced with the top 100 most added tunes from thesession.org. This month I tried something different and just asked what people wanted to work on.
