I do believe I played one of those back in October during my travels. Finish was nice and it sounded good.
Not remarkable to me, but we're each different in how we listen and hear, and there are folks on this board far more knowledgeable than me...

If you like the oval hole sound, the MD504 is rather nice. Benefit from careful setup and tweaking. I did a Cumberland Acoustics bridge for one - very good upgrade. I have 2 at the moment, if you're close you're welcome to look at them.

Thanks for the comments. Played a couple different 504's this past Saturday. Ended up purchasing a Martin A style.

I've been drawn to the 504 since it came out. I had a 514 in the shop that sounded so sweet and warm. I like the oval hole a lot better when just playing in close quarters. It sounds so much fuller to my ear. Of course it doesn't travel as well. The 505 I have projects really well, although they're a little more of a focussed, tighter sound than the oval holes.
