I'm sure others have seen the Stelling LS-5 on Ebay this week. Does anyone have an idea of the value of it?
I"ve tried doing some online research and cant find anything related to its value.
I guess they were made overseas then shipped to Stelling for final fit and finish.
I'm sure when the auction ends we will know the current value of it, but i'm thinking of putting in a bid and would like to know what a reasonable bid would be.

I have a friend who has a couple of Stelling mandolins -- don't know whether they're the LS-5 or not, but they're easy to play and nice to listen to and I have no idea what he paid for them new.

The Czech made Stellings were I believe made by Jiri Lebeda. I own two Lebedas, a J4 and an F5 and both are nice instruments. I think the Lebeda F5 retails in the States for around $3000 - $3500. I have however read some reviews which suggest Lebeda's own brand instruments are better thought of than his Stelling work.
If you Google the Stelling you'll find some discussion on Mandolin Cafe.
