On a recent trip to Colorado, I stopped by a music store to burn an hour or so between meetings at work. Among the mandolins that I sampled (from the Kentucky KM-150 to a Gibson F5-G darkburst) was the Morgan Monroe MDM1, satin finish/distressed model. I came very close to caving to MAS again, and getting shot by the spouse. The one I played had great volume and a balanced chop; a good, throaty bark from bass side to treble. Fairly long sustain on open, two-finger chords, too.
Anyone else have one of these, and can comment further? I was impressed (and NFI, by the way).

I was just really taken with the sound quality from that particular build. I wondered if anyone else had the same experience.

I don't know about that particular model, But I play MM Mandos and I Love 'em. Sometimes they don't get good reviews so maybe I just got lucky. But for the $, I think they are awesome.

I have a Mss-7,which I absolutely love. It's almost identicle to my old Ibanez in so many ways. There's 40 years difference between them and they're so close in craftsmenship.
