A friend of mine got one of the very first ones that they made...it was the first one they sold from the headquarters-store, and it sounded great to me. I love the satin violin-rubbed finish it has. I think these are the best sounding/most responsive ones GT makes. I think they are an excellent value.

Sorry I took so long, been busy. The GM 55 A sounds pretty good, but thin. Of course it's fairly new and the wood is tight and I am sure that my picking technique is lacking. I have found that the sweet spot is more toward the neck and when I manage to play there, it helps. It is a good looking instrument and seems well built.
