Anybody here have any experience with this particular model? The specs look the same as the KM-805 but it has fancier inlay in the headstock and fretboard.
It looks pretty good to me and I think I can get a used one for under 600. Just wondering what everyone might think about this. Seems like a higher end Kentucky so I would think it sounds as good as the 505 I have heard so much about.

If you can get a mandolin made of solid woods, wihich this one is, that you like the looks, sound and playability of for six bills buy it. New they are another 250 bucks or so. Enjoy! Play long and hard. R/

Pretty much the F equivelent of the KM-505. Nice mandolins. This is nearly identical to the 855. Assuming it is in good condition, I would say that $600 is good deal for one. :)

Yes, I bought the Kentucky and I love it. It was a factory blem which is why it was marked down but it looks great to me and sounds great. I could not be happier. Thanks for the input everyone, I appreciate it!

I have a KM-855 (in my profile pic). I have had it for two years, and love it! Amazing sound and bark. Good volume, tone and playability. One really nice thing was the radiused finger board. The only thing I did to mine was add a tone gard and armrest to get the maximum sound, and let er go! I have noticed a definite "break in" over the last two years-it has really opened up. I would recommend this to anyone.
