Hi All,
I play an oval hole "A" type (so no scroll), without a strap button at the neck end. Therefore the strap has to be attached by a cord tied on to the headstock under the strings and looped through the strap.
I recently fitted a wall hanger at home, and it looks great with the mandolin on it, but terrible if the strap is still attached, and dangling below it!
I could untie the strap, but don't want to have to tie it back on each time I pick up the mandolin to play
I have seen a strap (made by Klondike) which had a quick release buckle on it of the type found on backpacks. (effectively between the cord and the main strap), but I have been unable to find one anywhere.
Does anyone have any idea where I could buy one of these?

Before I had a strap button put in on the neck right near where it attaches to the body, I would undo the strap at the bottom of the mandolin and roll it up and set it on the hanger behind the mando neck.
It's a hercules hanger so there's a flat space to set it on but as the bottom strap hanger was a button it's easier than tying it all the time.
Strangely, the strap hanging now seems less ugly, as much of it is hidden behind the mandolin instead of draped along the neck (after button installed). Best of all, the strap is less in the way seeming and the mandolin hangs a little better on me.

A models come in two types, elevated fingerboard and not elevated. With the former, there is space to put a strap around the heel and under the extension.
But for me, when I'm not playing the instrument, it goes in the case.

Mark: I hadn't though of rolling the strap up on top of the hanger (mine is a Hercules too) - I'll give that a try thanks
