I have an old mandolin that needs some new tuners. I want to know is there a standard size for the new ones to go in, and is this something that could be done at home? Any suggestions on brands? I like the Waverly, but I would like them better on my new mandolin, if I ever have to get some more for it. Thanks!

If you go on the Stewart McDonald web site. There is a lot of information about mando. tuners and their specs.

Gotohs are hard to beat for the money. Waverlys are the creme de la creme.
Oh, I almost forgot: With Gotohs you can buy F-4 style OR F-5.

Edit reason: Added comment.

Thanks! I've been looking at Golden Age tuners. I want the Pearloid Knobs in gold. The ones I have are gold too, so I want to keep it the same. These would fit perfectly on it! Thanks for the feedback :D
