I just want to thank Eric and the others for creating this site. I"ve been a member of the Mandolin Cafe for years and it's time they got some real competition! keep up the good work and I hope to see some good things come out of this site.

Absolutely, I love the Cafe but I don't see that there is any need to be mutually exclusive. I believe that the hangout style will work well for the mando community, stimulating discussion and encouraging new friendships and crossovers, Thanks Eric.

Right. Anyone who's properly fanatical should be a member of both.

When I was still in the restaurant industry many of us moaned over the fact that a new restaurant was being built across the street from the place I worked in at the time. The owner suggested that having another eatery in the same area would bring in more business, and as an example pointed out that car dealerships tend to cluster together. And he was right; after the new place opened our business increased.
I like the Cafe and won't be avoiding it in favor of the hangout. Both have things to offer the community.

I always enjoy the Banjo Hangout ....... although not visiting much these days. Had to quit banjo. Not much talent here. ![]()
I think this will be another great resource for "us" mando people. Thanks Eric! ![]()

I agree with Rob. And mandoteacher. I think the two sites can compliment each other. And we can learn from both.
