I just found this forum and joined. I play mandolin and live in Albuquerque, New Mexico(yes, we are part of the United States) I love the mandolin and playing in small groups of folks with a variety of styles I have a Collings MT that I love the sound of after playing an old Gibson snakehead for many years. As a public school teacher my calendar allows time off from work to play. I am hoping to meet more folks in my area that play also.

Hi Daniel and welcome to the MHO. You have a really good mando with that MT. I have never heard nor played anything but good ones!

Hey guys.I'm a fiddler from the Fiddlehangout, who happens to dabble in mandolin. I've been to mandocafe, but I think the layout of the "hangout" sites are the best out there.
Best of luck to the new site, I'm sure it will be a success.

Hi Guys! I just found this place last night, and signed up. Just what I needed, anothe Time Vampire!!! Oh well, I have enjoyed Eric's ResoHangout a lot, and I also visit the guitar site from time to time. Even though I am primarily a guitar builder at this point, my main playing instrument is mandolin, so I really am glad to see this site. I wish it well!

Hey Guys I am also new here and joined last night as I have been learning the mandolin for about 10 years now and play in a gospel and bluegrass gpoup at our church and we play the nursing homes in our area every week here in Texas.

Welcome to all the newbies! Glad to have you. This is alot like FHO, which I really like.

Mr. Charlie, I will be moving to your neck of the woods early next year. My husband's job will be relocating us to Plano. Any jams around there that I could attend?

Susan

Just found the site. I live in southern New Mexico, Las Cruces. Been playing mando a few years. My favorite mando is my Click #18. Looking forward to the many things this site has to offer.

I'm from houston, so I'm not tied in up there, but I do know they have great, friendly jams on the town square out in Garland, east of Dallas, every saturday night during the warm months.

I'm a new member myself. Read about the new site last night over on the MC. I play mostly fiddle tunes on guitar and mandolin, and lately I've been getting into Celtic. I've got an account over on the flatpicker's

Hi folks,
I'm new here too. Been playing mandolin for a little over three years. A lot of years on the guitar and piano before that. Great site!

I just found mando hangout. I am an old timer and have been playing for quite a while. I have been a member of some of the other hangouts and was excited to see that Eric had started the mando one. I am looking forward to seeing this site grow as players discover it.

New guy! I am a member on BHO and found this site there.

I am learning a little mando. I have a Rouge mandolin with a warped neck which makes playing quite difficult. If I win the Mando contest here that will all change.

Looking forward to my time here.

Hi Guys, just signed up for the site. Greetings from a cold and damp Wales UK. Looks like this site will be a great source of information. I play a Goldtone Mandolin and vintage acoustic guitar in a local Bluegrass Band (not many of 'em around in Welsh Wales!) looking forward to reading the topics on the site. Lance
