Hi - my first post here but I've posted sporadically on the fiddle hangout for a while and more recently the BHO.
I reached out to the "local" (a county away) Mandolin Orchestra to ask if they knew of any maybe less good groups in the area that I could join. The contact was adamant that I could join them and that I would be good enough and to just come and try. So... after their coming concert I'll be joining them before their next cycle.
Is there anything you think I should know and/or do?

Maybe find out whether the parts would be distributed in tab or if you need to read the actual scores — you’ll have to be able to eventually play your section of the score — they seem to be open to working with you — it will be a good experience — congratulations

It should be a good chance to grow as a musician. Those settings can be quite fun too.
