Ok folks, our situation has now gone beyond ridiculous.



I got email last night from Scott ( yankees1 ), and it appears he has been banned. I am aware of no reason this should have happened. Before this happens to you or me, I am asking--no pleading-- for each of you to write to Eric schlange at his BHO address:



eric@banjohangout.org



Please ask for Scott Mahan's reinstatement, AND an end to the spam. I need your help Yooper , Steven Clarkson , mandoist , Mandodennis , Texasbanjo , mandosoft , joemed , and anyone else who thinks this forum might be worth saving. Though even I am having my doubts now...



It's now or never.

I feel there must have been a pretty good reason for his account to be locked. I don't know why, but I have a feeling Eric had a good reason or he wouldn't have done it.

I suggest Scott contact Eric himself and ask why his account was locked. Perhaps with a back and forth with Eric, the problem can be resolved.

As far as spam is concerned, since there are no moderators on this site, the only way to get rid of it is to contact Eric when you find it. He is the only one with the authority to edit/delete/hide posts and/or lock/block members.

And you can get me banned/blocked just by reporting this post to the Moderator. YOU have that power, not just schlange .

I have written to Eric. In fact I did yesterday about spam, but I wrote to the BHO address. I don't think he looks at MHO email. Then again, he hasn't responded to my BHO email either.

Its up to you. What do you have to lose?

Well, there is NO moderator on this site unless you are talking about Eric.

Unless rules and regs have changed, you don't get banned/blocked unless there is a reason: i.e., spam posts, continued flaunting of the rules, stuff like that.

He does look at MHO e-mail, as I have e-mailed him in the past about spam posts and he has always taken care of it in a timely manner.

Just be aware that he has a company to run other than these Hangouts and I'm sure that keeps him busy.

If you search Scott in the member search feature, it says his account has been locked for suspected spamming.



My guess is he some how got flagged for spam by accident or someone reported him?

Eric has usually been good about responding to stuff. It may take a bit, but you should have an answer. I'm sure he would be thrilled if a qualified moderator were to step forward to take more control of MHO.

I have two Ellis and two Girouard mandolins but honestly , I enjoy playing my Girouard A oval the best ! To my ears the sound is impeccable ! Love it ! But, like having four children I give them all equal time ! :)
