Sound

This mandolin has a nice range with deep tones. It projects very well

Sound Rating: 9

Setup

The MMS8 is designed to make set up easy. I had to adjust the intonation but other setup components were good.

Appearance

This mandolin has a nice antique satin finish. Some of the banding on the head is not as nice as you would like but this is a very nice mandolin for its price range. The tail piece is cast metal and durable. The tuner keys are smooth and well made. I have received many positive comments on its looks and sound.

Appearance Rating: 9

Reliability

Heavy duty tail piece and smooth solid tuners. This mandolin's sound is still getting better with time. I would play this mandolin solo at the professional level. I use it for jams and really enjoy it.

Reliability Rating: 10

Customer Service

This was purchased over the internet so the service is average. Shipping was prompt with no problems.

Components

This is a well built mandolin. Looks good and sounds good. All hardware is very good quality. I have had no complaints. It makes me look better than I can play.

Components Rating: 10

Overall Comments

This is one of the best mandolins if not the best in this price range. The only other mandolin I considered was an M. Kelly but there were so many seconds on the market I decided to go with the Morgan Monroe and I an glad I did.

Overall Rating: 10
