I have recorded this on a pocket size four track digital recorder. I play mandolin, guitar, fiddle and sing. It's a slower version than the fast fiddle tune we are used to hear, but it is with the original lyrics from the play it was made for around 1840. It's impossible to sing fast.

An old scottish reel, that has made it's way from Scotland over Ireland and eventually landed in the Appalachians and has become a part of the old-time repetoire. I play this on guitar and mandolin. I have learned it from some tabs that came with a DVD from Homespun Tapes, The Norman Blake Mandolin, where he plays with his wife Nancy. Highly recommendable. Norman Blake is one of my favorite players both on mandolin and especially on the guitar.

An old danish folk tune, originally played on fiddle for dances. It might be from some theatrical play of a kind. I'll see if I can figure that out later.

Don't remember where I first heard this song, but I think it is an old Hillbilly Swing tune. I play mandolin and guitar and sing harmonies.

I play the mandolin here, and a friend of mine takes care of the banjo. Sorry for the poor sound quality.

This is a recording with a little band I was practicing with 6 years ago. Bnajo, harmonica, electric bass and me on mandolin. It's recorded on a laptop.

This one is also recorded on a pocket size digital recorder. I play guitar with a pick up and mandolin and sing both voices. Excuse the poor sound quality. It's in a bit too low key for my voice. I think this, like I'll Go Stepping Too, is a Hillbilly Jazz tune. Don't know who made it.

I play this on guitar and a Gold Tone GM 6 mandoguitar. I learned the tune from a record with Norman Blake and the texas guitarist Rich O'Brien. They play it on guitar and guitjo or banjitar as some prefer to call the 6 string banjo.

I play this on a Gold Tone GM 6 mandoguitar and guitar to back it up. I think it is what is called a Goon song. Kinda like a ragtime tune. I have heard it with Doc Watson, and found some tabs for it on his website.
