Nearing the end of selling off my collection of instruments, I am reluctantly selling this as new Weber Black Ice F-5 mandolin. Bought new in 2012, this is a 2011 model serial number 11426211. It's in perfect condition and has very rarely been out of the case--certainly not played to any extent.
It is a traditional F style mandolin with hand graduated and tuned solid spruce top fitted with carved spruce tone bars. The back, ribs and neck are AAA flame maple while the peghead veneer is ivory bound ebony with mother of pearl "The Weber" script and shield inlay. The fingerboard is ivory bound ebony with MOP diamond inlays. The neck is fitted with a dual action adjustable truss rod. The Black Ice is finished with a nitrocellulose lacquer solid black top and translucent slate neck, rim and back and set off with ivory binding. The instrument is finished off with cast Weber nickel, black filled tailpiece and nickel Grover tuners with black buttons. It has a Brekke bridge. Made in Montana before Bruce sold the Weber business.
