Man the bass side on that Mandola is rich. Tune is pretty dark and pensive.  Thanks Steve.

Thanks for the listen and cooment Patrick — funny how an instrument can bring the best out of you — I’m debating of whether to put flatwounds on her — I’m using ef76s right now — but I do like her voice quite a bit — what do you think?

It's good to experiment. I had Silk and Steels on my mandola for a while, but that was too much work (and a bit wasteful)--mixing guitar strings and mandolin strings to get it right.

For your instrument, all I know is that I wouldn't alter that bass side sound, but that's me.

Thanks for the advice— I’m going back and forth a bit but leaning towards keeping the ej76s — I’ve played with flatwounds on my mandolin for years and it’s just taking some getting used to with the phosphor bronze — but stronger fingers with heavier callouses is a good thing. Right? ??

Thanks for sharing, nice tone, I'm picking up a mid eastern feel, sounds good.

Thanks Joe — I lived in Japan and Korea but have never been to the mid-East though I enjoy Klezmer music a tad bit — the song has some odd time signature changes which probably gives it a more Eastern music feel
