Earl was the man! ---and a gentleman. He was 88 I read. He changed the world,not many people get to do that! He'll be missed. I've always thought of Earl Scruggs as equal to Bill Monroe as the creator of bluegrass music. Without his banjo bluegrass very likely would not have happened! |

The Banjo Hangout is in mourning because of Earl's passing. What a sad day for us all. Earl will be missed but his music will let his legend live on.

One of the greatest figures in all of Bluegrass Music passes away and the Mando Hangout has a grand total of 4 responses to it. Even that is less than I have come to expect from this lame site. Just when I think there might be some hope for MHO, it just gets worse. I'm coming real close to giving up on it all together.

The great ones are leaving us. Always reminds me to appreciate those guys that are left and go and see them play while we still can.
