Up for sale is a beautiful, mint custom Arches A style mandolin made by well known luthier Chris Baird of Moab, Utah. Spruce top with maple back and sides and appears as if never played. I purchased it about five years ago from Kennard Machol of Intermountain Guitar & Banjo in Salt Lake City. This was his personal instrument and he was kind enough to include a note about the history of the instrument (pictured). He is a multi-instrumentalist and according to the note he sought out Chris Baird, who he described as an up and coming builder, sending Chris his favorite mandolin, a Gilchrist A Style, and asked that he model one after it. The year of the mandolin is 2006 and the serial number is 12. Again, it is virtually unplayed, as Kennard devoted most of his playing to the fiddle and banjo and sold the mandolin. Although I have cherished the instrument, it has rarely been out of the case during my possession of it.

***Rock bottom price on a wonderful mandolin*** I am selling my 2007 Collings MT2 Mandolin. The serial number is "A1500". The mandolin is beautiful and is in excellent condition. No damage or repairs. The instrument looks and plays great with a comfortable neck, and great intonation throughout. All frets are in great shape, the neck is straight and there is no fret buzz. The mandolin has an Engelmann Spruce top and flamed Eastern maple back and sides. Wide nut is another feature of this very playable mandolin. Collings original hard-shell case is included. This is priced to sell, and you will not be disappointed. $3600 plus shipping and any fees if applicable (price reduced $1800 off new price). My conversation with Collings tells me that starting price of a new MT2 is $5400. Guessing this will go up in 2025. Get an MT2 for much less than the price of an MT! I don't think you will find another Collings MT2 in this pristine condition. You will not be disappointed. If you are considering a Collings mandolin, I don't think you can beat this one. Frets now 90%, not flattened yet, refret done 10 years ago by Willie Henkes. Quite mint condition, well maintained. Option a very sturdy flight case and an included 'normal' elderly case, both full of stickers for customs reasons. First owner over 39 years, never found any other mandolin i liked better. The oval-shaped body is nearly 3" deep and features a flat ADK spruce top with black walnut back and sides and an X-braced top with diagonal back bracing. The bolt-on mahogany neck has a 14" scale, the bone nut has a 1-1/4" width, ebony fretboard with purple heart position markers on the side, an ebony peghead overlay with maple and purple heart strips inlaid, a soft v profile, and a carbon-fiber-reinforced neck. Equipped with an ebony bridge with bone saddle, custom tailpiece, and high-quality geared tuners. It comes with a case, as you can see in the photos. It has a K&K pickup that sounds great plugged in. The sound is nice and deep and is wonderful for strumming, Celtic, and classic music. It was recently set up professionally and plays great; hopefully you can see where the action is from the photos. Tuning machines are easy to use and have a nice wide nut, which, to me, feels really comfortable in the hand. I love this mandolin and wish I didn't have to part with it.
